The Dr. Schneider World - Data Protection

Data Protection

We, Dr. Schneider Unternehmensgruppe (hereinafter "we"), are delighted with your interest in our website and what we offer. We take the protection of your personal data very seriously. We reserve the right to amend and to modify this data privacy statement at any time. The most current version will always apply, so we recommend that you review this statement regularly.

Our website can be used without entering any personal data. To that extent we do not collect any data either, unless you yourself provide information on the contact form. In this case the data will be used exclusively for answering your request and will be erased if you so desire or if the data no longer need to be stored.

We gather what are known as log files for the purposes of presenting the website, ensuring its functionality and optimising it. These are sent from your browser to our server and contain data such as your IP address, the date and time of your request, the time difference to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), the content of your request (specific page), the access status/HTTP status code, the amount of data respectively transmitted, the website from which the request was sent, your browser, the operational system and its interface (GUI), language and browser software version. The legal basis for this is point (f) of Art. 6(1) of the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Log files and their contents are stored for a maximum of 3 days and are then erased unless they are needed in order to investigate or document any misuse or unlawful use which has come to light within the retention period.

Data collection

The personal data we collect as a result of your use of our website, for the performance of a contract, based on consent and any contact made between us, whether initiated by you or by us, will be processed on the basis of what is known as the legitimacy principle. Personal data will be forwarded within Dr. Schneider Unternehmensgruppe and to commissioned service providers, partners and other legitimate recipients. This relates in particular to the following encounters:

  • Contact initiated by you, contact form

If you contact us by email, telephone, post, the contact form on the website or in person (e.g. at trade fairs, seminars or events), we will process your personal data for the purposes of responding to, documenting and following up your request on the basis of points (b) or (f) of Art. 6(1) GDPR.

  • Execution of orders

We will process personal data (your title, form of address, name, company, address, contact details, transaction details) that you provide for the purposes of the execution of orders (e.g. fulfilling a purchase contract) on the basis of point (b) of Art.6(1) GDPR. To that end we will, where necessary, send requisite information to the companies commissioned with delivery or execution and to the banks, insurers and service providers commissioned with the transaction, adjustment, credit checks and crosschecking with sanctions lists. This likewise applies for the performance of contract-initiating or pre-contractual measures as well as post-contractual services and complaints.

  • Trade fairs and events

At trade fairs and events you can find out about our products and services and make personal contact with us. The personal data that you provide (your title, form of address, name, company, address, contact details) will be processed for the purposes of responding to, documenting and following up the respective event on the basis of points (b) or (f) of Art. 6(1) GDPR.

  • Contact initiated by us

We may initiate contact with you by telephone, email or other means of communication or in person for the purposes of customary customer service, to arrange appointments, for one-off information to new contacts about our means of communication and for similar purposes. To that end we will process the personal data that you provide (your title, form of address, name, company, address, contact details, role in the company) now or in the future, that are in the public domain or that are sent to us by third parties, on the basis of points (b) or (f) of Art. 6(1) GDPR. The same applies for the performance of regular satisfaction surveys in order to improve quality assurance and increase partner and customer satisfaction. To that end we will, where necessary, send requisite information to the service providers and partners commissioned to perform such surveys.

Forwarding of personal data

Where necessary, personal data will be forwarded within Dr. Schneider Unternehmensgruppe and to commissioned service providers, partners and other legitimate recipients. They will only otherwise be forwarded to third parties if we have expressly informed you of this. No provision has been made for the forwarding of personal data to a third country outside the European Union. Your personal data will expressly not be sold for commercial purposes.

Duration of the data storage

If a contractual relationship exists between you and us, your personal data will be erased in accordance with statutory erasure requirements. If we process your data on the basis of a request, initiation of contact or other communication, they will be erased on conclusion of the request unless there is a legitimate purpose for the further processing or storage of these data.

Matomo (formerly Piwik) -> statistics cookie

We use the web analytics service Matomo in order to analyse the use of our website and keep improving it. The statistics obtained enable us to improve the site and make it more interesting for users. The legal basis for the use of Matomo is point (f) of Art. 6(1) GDPR.

This website uses Matomo with the extension "AnonymizeIP". It allows IP addresses to be processed in an abbreviated form that prevents them being traced back to any particular person. The IP address transmitted by your browser using Matomo will not be combined with other data we have collected.

The Matomo software and the data collected using Matomo will only be operated, stored and processed on our own servers.

The Matomo program is an open-source project. Information from the third-party provider about data protection can be found at

If you consent to the use of Matomo via our cookie banner ("Statistics" opt-in), cookies will be stored on your computer for the purposes of this analysis. You can withdraw your consent on this website at any time or prevent the storage of cookies by changing the settings in your browser. We should point out, however, that if you prevent the storage of cookies you may not be able to use all functions of this website to their fullest extent.

Google services

We use services of Google Inc. (hereinafter "Google") on our website. Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, has responsibility for European territory.

Further information (in German) about Google Inc.'s data privacy policies can be found at or

  1. 1. Google Fonts

We use Google Fonts on our website. Google Fonts is a library of over 800 fonts that Google Inc. provides to its users free of charge.

You do not need to register in order to use Google Fonts, nor will any cookies will be stored in your browser. The files (CSS, fonts) are requested via the Google domains and According to Google, the requests for CSS and fonts are kept completely separate from all other Google services. Even if you have a Google account, your account details will not be sent to Google. Google records the usage of CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) and the fonts used and stores these data securely.

Google Fonts enables us to use fonts on our website without having to upload them to our own server. Google Fonts is an important feature that helps us maintain the high quality of our website and accelerate loading times. All Google fonts are automatically optimised for the web. This reduces data volumes and is a huge benefit especially when using mobile devices. Thanks to the rapid Content Delivery Network (CDN), Google Fonts does not cause any cross-platform problems. Google Fonts supports all standard browsers and functions reliably on the majority of modern mobile operating systems.

When you visit our website, the fonts will be loaded via a Google server. This entails sending data to the Google servers, which allows Google to recognise that you or your IP address are visiting our website. The Google Fonts API (Application Programming Interface) was developed in order to reduce the use, storage and recording of end-user data to the minimum necessary for the proper provision of fonts. With every Google Fonts request, information such as language settings, your IP address and the version, screen resolution and name of your browser will be transferred to the Google servers automatically. It is not clear, and Google has not indicated precisely, whether these data are also stored.

Google stores requests for CSS assets for one day on its servers, which are predominantly located outside the EU. Google stores the font files for one year. The collected usage figures enable Google to determine how well the individual fonts are received. This helps Google achieve its goal of significantly improving the loading time of websites.

The data which Google stores or one day or one year cannot be easily erased. The data are sent to Google automatically when the page is accessed. To erase these data before then, you must contact Google Support at In this case you can only prevent the storage of data by not visiting our website.

More about Google Fonts and other questions can be found at:

  1. 2. Google DoubleClick

We use "DoubleClick", an online marketing tool, on our website. DoubleClick uses cookies, which are small text files that are stored locally in the clipboard of the web browser on your device. Google uses a cookie ID to record which advertisements are activated in which web browser. This enables it to prevent advertisements being displayed more than once. DoubleClick can also use the cookie IDs to record what are known as conversions that relate to advertising requests. This is the case, for instance, if you see a DoubleClick advertisement and later access the advertiser's website using the same browser and buy something there. According to Google, the above cookies do not contain any personal data. The use of DoubleClick enables your browser to automatically establish a direct connection with the Google server. We do not have any influence on the extent and the further use of the data that are collected by Google through the use of DoubleClick. It is our understanding that Google receives the information that you have accessed the corresponding part of our website or have clicked on an advertisement of ours. If you have a Google user account and are registered there, Google can associate the visit with your user account. Even if you are not registered with Google or have not logged in, it is possible for Google to find out your IP address and store it.

We use DoubleClick for marketing and optimisation purposes, particularly in order to activate advertisements that are relevant and interesting to you, improve reports on the campaign or prevent you seeing the same advertisement multiple times. We have a legitimate interest in having such data processed by the third-party provider. The legal basis is point (f) of Art. 6(1) GDPR.

  1. 3. Google reCAPTCHA

To ensure sufficient data security when sending forms, we use the Google reCAPTCHA service in certain cases. This is primarily in order to determine whether the input is being made by a natural person or improperly by machine or automated processing. The service includes sending the IP address to Google along with any other data required by Google for the reCAPTCHA service.

2. jQuery

We use the services of jQuery CDN so that you can access our website quickly and easily on a variety of devices. These are distributed via the CDN of the American software company StackPath (LCC 2012 McKinney Ave. Suite 1100, Dallas, TX 75201, USA). The services use JavaScript libraries in order to present our website content promptly. A CDN server loads the files needed for this purpose. As soon as a connection to the CDN server has been established, your IP address will be recorded and stored. This will only happen if these data have not already been stored in your browser from a previous visit to the site. The data privacy policy of StackPath expressly states that they use aggregated and anonymised data from various services (e.g. jQuery) in order to improve security and for their own services. However, these data cannot identify you as a person. More information about data protection at StackPath can be found at and about jQuery at

Social plugins

Our website uses social plugins. These are identified with the corresponding logo and link to the relevant website. If you access a page of our website that contains such a plugin, your browser will establish a direct connection with the relevant server. This tells the social media operator that you have accessed the corresponding page of our website. It can then associate this information with your account, provided you are logged in. If you do not want the social media operator to collect data about you from our website, you must log out of the social media account before visiting our website.

Our website uses what are known as social plugins ("plugins") of the social media network Facebook, which is operated by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA ("Facebook"). You can see an overview of the Facebook plugins and what they look like at

If you access a page of our website that contains such a plugin, your browser will establish a direct connection with the Facebook servers. Facebook sends the content of the plugin direct to your browser, which integrates it into the page. Integration of the plugin gives Facebook the information that your browser has accessed the corresponding page of our website even if you do not have a Facebook profile or are not logged in to Facebook at the time. Your browser sends this information (including your IP address) directly to a Facebook server in the USA, where it is stored.

If you are logged in to Facebook, Facebook can associate your visit to our website directly with your Facebook account. When you interact with the plugins, e.g. by clicking on the "Like" button or writing a comment, this information is likewise sent directly to a Facebook server, where it is stored. The information will also be published on your Facebook profile and shown to your Facebook friends. For the purpose and scope of the data collection and the other processing and use of the data by Facebook, and for the rights and options you have concerning the protection of your privacy, please refer to Facebook’s data privacy policy at

If you do not want Facebook to associate the data collected about our internet presence directly with your Facebook profile, you must log out of Facebook before visiting our website. You can also prevent any Facebook plugins from being loaded by using add-ons for your browser:

Mozilla Firefox:

This website uses the "Share" button of XING. When you access this website, your browser will therefore establish a connection with the servers of XING AG, Gänsemarkt 43, 20354 Hamburg, Germany, so that the share functions (e.g. indication of the counter value) can be performed. Your personal data will not be stored when you access this website. In particular, XING will not store any IP addresses, nor will your user behaviour be analysed. Up-to-date information about data privacy with regard to the "Share" button and further relevant information can be found at

Our website uses components of YouTube, which belongs to Google. The website operator is YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA.

When you are logged in to your YouTube account, you enable YouTube to associate your search behaviour directly with your personal profile. You can prevent this from happening by logging out of your YouTube account.

YouTube is used in order to present our online products in an appealing way. This is a legitimate interest within the meaning of point (f) of Art. 6(1) GDPR. You can prevent the use of YouTube simply by disabling cookies. In this case no data about you will be sent to YouTube.

Note on the processing of depersonalized data

Furthermore, we process depersonalized data for evaluation purposes.
